Around Joshua

Originally started as a solo acoustic project created by Dave Talbo, singer songwriter and guitarist, from Trois-Rivières, Quebec, Around Joshua turned very quickly into an independent rock band.
The response of the audience during the first Around Joshua concerts was amazing creating a fan base whose loyalty has never wavered until today.
From its inception Around Joshua’s musical signature is defined by their unique layering of vocals, guitars and keyboards, a strong melodic sense with a connection to the Britpop family, the band being often compared to Muse, Placebo or Snowpatrol. A sound driven by rock and alternative influences fused with pop melodies and hooks.
In 2010 Around Joshua released their first album “Cassiopeia Noks” produced by Jordon Zadorozny (Sam Roberts, Melissa Auf Der Maur). In the wake of the release of “Cassiopeia Noks” Around Joshua toured Canada and Europe playing over 100 shows and sharing the stage with artists such as Jakob Dylan, Patrick Watson, DJ Champion, The Dears, Karkwa, Malajube and We Are Wolves to name but a few.
In 2011 Around Joshua’s track “Same Star” was featured on the soundtrack of the American film “Rehab”, produced by David Caruso (C.S.I Miami). In 2013 RDS sports network featured the tracks “Eternally”, “Hold On” and “Sometimes” before every Montreal Canadians hockey game.
For their latest Canadian release, the band enlisted veteran producer Mike Fraser (Metallica, Foo Fighters, Aerosmith, Franz Ferdinand, AC/DC) to begin work on “The Tree’s Are Singing”. The album was recorded in Morin Heights, Quebec at Mayk Music Studios and mastered at Sterling Sound in New York by Greg Calbi (David Bowie, The Strokes, Interpol).
“The Tree’s Are Singing” was released in Canada in 2019 and ranked among the best 21 Canadian rock albums out of 588 by the Canadian Music Blog.
Newly signed to The DZ Factory’s newly founded “The Noise Shack” label, a new album “Something New” has been recorded in 2023.
